Customs, Festivals, & Celebrations
Ching Ming Festival

Ching Ming Festival is a time for Chinese to go sweep graves and pay respect to their ancestors. Since it is in spring, the weather is often rainy. In fact a famous ancient Chinese poem says that in the first line.

A large majority of the locals here in Hong Kong would follow the Taoist or Buddhist customs when paying respects to deceased relatives, offering food, burning incense and other paper-made offerings. It is interesting that those things have changed with times and paper stereo system, cell phones, and all kinds of modern ammenities are sent to them by fire.
