Tsim Jai Kee (noodles)
98 Wellington Street,
Central
(near the mid-level escalators)

Lunch, tea-time, dinner
(HK$15 for a bowl of noodles, HK$6 or was it $8 for a plate of greens)l

The prices are unbelievable - $15 for a bowl of noodles! The choices are limited though. You can only choose between jumbo prawn wanton noodles, beef noodles or fishball noodles. I must confess I’m not a big fan of wanton noodles in general but for those who need their wanton fix, this is a good place to go to. The wantons are huge and the egg noodles are fresh and springy –a true delight. It’s really the noodles that I’m keen on here – the wantons, the beef slices etc are really secondary to the pleasures of egg noodles cooked perfectly al dente.
