Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, pineapple buns are a favorite for a lot of locals in Hong Kong especially when they are hot out of the oven. Every local bakery has it and they are among the lowest priced items.

Some like it with a slice of butter inside - which is how it is often served in Hong Kong styled tea restaurants ("cha chaan tang").
