Summer in Hong Kong is nice and hot. Thankfully it is not as hot as many other cities temperature-wise, but the humidity makes up for it.
But if you are just coming here for vacation, there're plenty of activities to keep you cool (see our Summer Vacation in Hong Kong page). Besides, the air-conditioning is always
on full blast at restaurants, buses, and just about all modes of transportation in HK.

Air temperature means (1971-2000):
- June - 27.9 deg C (mean)
- mean daily maximum: 30.4 deg C
- mean relative humidity: 82%
- July - 28.7 deg C (mean)
- mean daily maximum: 31.3 deg C
- mean relative humidity: 81%
- August - 28.4 deg C (mean)
- mean daily maximum: 31.1 deg C
- mean relative humidity: 82%
With the high humidity, it means that even though the temperature is not that high, walking outside for just a few minutes will require a shower because others can detect your presence a mile away.

One thing you might want to know: since the summer vacation for most local schools doesn't start till mid July, the
Hong Kong beaches and local swimming pools will not get as crowded during weekdays till then.
